Greater Tion

The Greater Tion was the region a of the Outer Rim Territories that surrounded and included the Tion Cluster. Home to hundreds of different native species, this sector of the galaxy was one of the first to be heavily colonized by the Rakata and formed and essential part of their mythical Infinite Empire dating back to before the foundation of the Old Republic.

In many ways the history of the cluster was shaped by its galactic geography. Created from the stellar nursery of the vast nebula called the Indrexu Spiral, the cluster is bounded on three sides by immense expanses of thinly populated space, leading to its unique and isolated culture. To the galactic west, the cluster borders the Stygian Caldera, a vast region of space defined by radically shifting gravity currents and repeatedly scoured by the terror of the Sith. To the galactic south, towards the Core, the cluster is bordered by the region known as the Infinite Ash, a space of imploded suns and rogue planets and fragments thought to be the remnants of a war between the Infinite Empire and another, unknown ancient species. And to the galactic east, the Pakuuni Expanse forms a natural barrier between the cluster and the ancient region claimed by the dangerous Hutt kajidics known as Hutt Space.

Astrometrics

Historically, the Tion Cluster has been politically unified, divided, split and reorganized in hundreds if not thousands of ways. Currently, the Galactic Empire has divided the Tion Cluster into six sectors of space based on historical precedent and political necessity.

Tion Hegemony Holman Tion Tion Tion (House)

The Ancient & Honorable Union of the Tion Hegemony, also called the Caluula sector, was a sector in the Tion Cluster, on the edge of one of the galaxy's spiral arms. It contained a total of twenty-seven inhabited star systems. Site of the original landing world of the human Core colonists, it represented the oldest seat of human power in the cluster.

Allied Tion Kiber Gronn Jaminere Santhe

Historically known alternately as the Marches, the Allied Tion sector was created around the star systems that sided with the Republic during the Clone Wars in defiance of their neighbors in the Tion Hegemony and the Kingdom of Cron. Politically dominated by the interests of the Empire and the corporate power of Santhe/Sienar.

Cronese Mandate Therman Imoth Chandaar Arcturian

Also called the Kingdom of Cron, the Cronese Mandate is the third and most powerful subdivision of the cluster, ruled as a puppet kingdom by the brutal King Robeir XXIII Arcturian.

The Indrexu Spiral, a nearly impassable astrographic feature composed of proto-matter and gas, was located in this sector. Keldrath Sector Ard Terani Mullan

None

Keldrath sector was a sector located within the Tion Cluster of the Outer Rim Territories region of the galaxy. Considered by the inhabitants of the cluster as a sleepy backwater, the worlds of the Keldrath Sector often served as vast, slave farmed plantation planets, serving as the breadbasket of the cluster in many ways.

Perlemian Trade Route

The Perlemian Trade Route was a vital trade super-hyperroute that ran through the galaxy. Along with the Corellian Run, it was one of the two routes that made up the border of The Slice. It was founded c. 25,000 BBY, linking the young Galactic Republic with Ossus. The forces of the Republic and of the Tion Hegemony used the route extensively in their conflict of the Tionese War. The Perlemia system, located in the Core Worlds, was the likely source for the trade route's name.

Government

Like everything in the Tion Cluster, the governance of the Cluster is a mixture between the new and the old. In the wake fo the Clone Wars and the ascension of the Galactic Empire, the traditionally unified Cluster was subdivided into 6 separate sectors, each controlled by an Imperially appointed Moff, all subservient to the Grand Moff of Oversector Outer Wilhuff Tarkin and, ultimately, to Emperor Palpatine.

These six moffs uniquely form the the Greater Tion Governing Directorate, a council with supreme authority over Imperial jurisdiction within the cluster and accountable to the Grand Moff's office for any violations of Imperial law or acts of sedition.

Locally, however, the day-to-day governance of the various sectors of the Cluster is carried out by more local, traditional power in the form of the Kingdom of Cron and the Twelve Houses of Tion.

The Twelve Houses of Tion

Formed from the Twelve Tribes of Tion, the first human inhabitants of the Cluster have since organized themselves into a complex, intermarried hierarchy of noble houses each of which traces its legacy and blood backwards to a semi-mythical founder. These Twelve Houses of Tion are the true foundation of power within the cluster, even if their fortunes find themselves at their lowest ebb since the New Sith Wars with the ascension of the puppet king Arcturion and his Imperial backing.

Ruling from the planet Dellalt, the strongly matriarchal House Volans is by far the least "human centric" of the Tionese Great Houses, having long ago formed an ancient pact with the native Dellaltans of their beautiful homeworld. Wealthy, and with a reputation for fairness, the daughters of House Volans are rightly respected for their mercantile cunning as much as for their strong gift of prophecy.

1: When speaking the name of a noble of the house, one uses the Genitive form. For example: Zyleena Andromedae is of the House Andromedes
2: The original twelve houses cohabitated on Tion, but during the rise of the Tion Hegemony each claimed a Throneworld. Since they have kept these worlds for the majority of Tion's history, it is prudent to list them here.
3: House Vela's symbology is a reference to the Argo Navis, the original colony ship that bore the Survivors to Tion.
4: Usually portrayed as a marlin or swordfish, because, come on.
